Small Business Tips For Success: The feast or famine business model
The feast of famine business model merely refers to my personal perceptions of certain prevalent business models you or anyone else might likely find while searching for a business to join online.
Most often employed by many high cost or “high ticket” programs and products online, this model for business would most accurately be described as a recipe for disaster.
The underlying premise being, at say $1000 a sale, how many sales would you need to make a return on your investment, quit your job, buy a house, etc., etc. Feast or famine…
For those with a proven track record of success online, more often than not the case for them will be feast. For those with the skewed perception that any kind of success, be it success online or success in general, happens over night; I see famine in you future.

Business Meetings A Platform To Start Networking
Aug 20th

It is usually stated that business meetings, events and gatherings are the most powerful resource to provide you opportunities to build relationships and business networking. You can exchange business cards, have conversations about business and general topics, have dinner with famous personalities and offer your services. But this statement does not consider the whole scenario. Big business gatherings and events have lots of things happening together. People do have meetings with others for the very first time, but long lasting relationships cannot be built in the distracting atmosphere of business events. People do meet but it is very difficult to remember someone who met for some whiles at a business event. Usually a business event has many activities going on in parallel with each other. There are hundreds of people present at such gatherings. Meals are being served, presenters and speakers are there on stage for presentations and in the mean time these people are having meetings. In such a distracting environment a real personal bond is almost unattainable.
Networking is all about building long lasting and strong relationships. So these business gatherings and events are just a beginning for any relationship. They just give you an opportunity to get started with a new relation. You can just have short-lived associations with various people at business events. Until and unless you make follow up strides or the other person takes the step, you will definitely stop thinking about each other in just two days. Here applies the rule “Out of sight out of mind”. So you need to make people remember you and stay in front of their sights or thoughts. Make them feel important by remembering them. Send them invitations for dinner or lunch. Send them greetings on events and festivals. Make them smile by remembering their birthday or congratulating them on their success. These and other such kind of steps can make people smile and remember you forever. This is the right way to build long lasting and continuing relationships through networking. Business events just play a role to provide a platform to get started.
No doubt business meetings are a great situation to find people of your interest. You can identify many business celebrities, you would love to make relationship with. You can meet lots of influential people there who can help you in future and may be very good friend of yours. Business gatherings invite many entrepreneurs, business owners, CEOs, big suppliers, advertising agents, distributors etc. you would be interested to start a relationship with them.
But to start networking, a face to face meeting is necessary. You should have a lunch or dinner, invite the other person for a coffee and do take some time to search information about the other person. This is the starting point of a true relationship. Do learn about him. Learn about their likes and dislikes. These things will make him feel very important for you that he has a special place in your heart.
The new Blackberry Pearl 9105 for business
Aug 20th

Last week Blackberry released their latest Smartphone in the UK. The Blackberry Pearl 9105 at first sight seems more of a consumer rather than a business mobile phone. So, what do we think of this newcomer to the stable and how does it perform as a business mobile phone?

Blackberry Pearl 9105 3G
My first reaction on seeing the phone was that it is a fairly outdated design – the shape is reminiscent of the Blackberry Bold 9700 but is about 30% smaller and slimmer measuring 107 x 49.7 x 13.2mm – it is more curved and smoother looking than the previous Blackberry pearl 8100. So far the 9105 only comes in black.
The Blackberry Pearl 9105 brings 3G connectivity and more computing power than it’s predeccesors. The display has a resolution of 360 x 400 pixels that is incredibly crisp and clear – good for photos and video!
Below the screen is what looks like a common mobile phone numberpad – we looked underneath and there is definitely no QWERTY keyboard, hmm, this is the main reason for the phone not seeming too functional as a business mobile phone, For those used to Blackberry QWERTY keyboards it will be quite a transition to be able to type as quickly using predictive text. But for many mobile phone users this may attract them to the Blackberry range as it is not such a change.
Do you Have a Business Strategy?
Aug 18th

Starting and running a small business without a basic strategy is a bit like getting in a car and driving west. You may end up selling things and making money but, as with the car, you’re quite likely to end up getting lost down a dead-end street, in a swamp or going by a place you should have visited. Determining your basic business strategy involves asking what your goals are, how you are going to get there, how your business will interact with your customers, suppliers and partners and how you will position your business in the marketplace. It’s easy to create such a strategy and it doesn’t even have to be written down as long as it is clear in your mind.
The first thing to consider when creating a strategy is your goal. Do you want to be the next Bill Gates or do you want a bit of extra income for part-time work? If you’re going to try to make millions, forget spending time with the kids, spouse, fixing up the house or anything else – your work will be your life for the near future. If you’re after some supplementary income, decide how much time you’re going to spend on your business and stick to it. If you’re somewhere between these extremes, decide on the revenue and profit you want and the time you want to spend at it. Determine what’s reasonable and then plan for that. It’s important to get your goal clear in your mind because otherwise you might end up with the part-time income but the millionaire’s time commitment.
Once you have a clear goal, it’s time to think about how to achieve it. Are you going to sell lots and demand a low price or do you want to specialize in low volume but high price. Generally small businesses can’t achieve the lowest prices effectively but they can give good value at a reasonable price. On the other hand, one of the strengths of a small business is the custom approach where you give the client exactly what they want and, of course, you can charge more for that. Where does quality fit into your strategy? Will you have the top quality, no matter what the cost, or will you cut a few corners to reduce the price? Will you standardize and give all your customers the same thing no matter what they want or give them the quality and value they’re looking for with a corresponding price? The thing about a strategy is that there is no right answer – the answer depends on what you do best, your personal situation and your target market. The key thing is to make the decisions and stick to them unless there is a good reason to change. If you don’t have a strategy and don’t make these decisions, you are likely to end up selling poor quality as custom made at a low price and spend all your time dealing with customer complaints. You won’t achieve any goals that way.
When you have a clear idea of your goals and how to achieve them, the rest is easy. Make sure your relationships with your customers, suppliers and partners match your goals and that you position yourself in the marketplace accordingly. If you decide to be a high-end source of custom products or services, make sure that you have the high quality business cards, letterheads, contracts, telephone system etc. in place and that your promotional literature refers to you accordingly. If you have chosen to concentrate on volume and value, those are your selling points – don’t waste money on items that don’t contribute directly to this strategy. Your customers won’t expect fancy letters or invoices. They will be looking for the best value at the lowest cost.
Online Business Tips for Success: Charting the Right Course Across the Ocean of Online Opportunity

Online Business Tips For Success…
Thinking in terms of your typical “how to” approach to online business opportunity, those immortal words branded as the “boy scout motto” come to mind. Namely; “Be Prepared.” Just as many a weather beaten “the sea is a harsh mistress” sea fairing captain will tell you (not that I know any, Just speculating here), preparation is the key to weathering any storm.
Online Business Tips #1:
By preparation, I don’t mean to imply that by completing a few tasks here and tying up a few loose ends there, that the job of preparing is something that you can forever leave in your wake.
If anything, the steps you’ll take to prepare to launch your business will be much more like a routine that you’ll maintain to be certain you’ve battened down all your hatches so to speak.
Top 10 Ways To Improve Your Sight Reading For Piano
Aug 6th

Ready to play on the spot? Here are the top 10 ways to improve your sight reading:
1. Learn every bit of notation that you can get your hands on. The more notation that you learn, the easier it is to interpret the notes you see. Don’t just stop at the basics. Go on to learn intermediate notation and advanced notation. Sure, the deeper that you delve into notation, the more advanced and complicated the music becomes — but don’t let that scare you. You’re in the learning stage right now, so have at it. You’ll thank yourself for all the hard studying you’ve done once you’re placed into the spotlight.
2. Check out the key. When you’re faced with a piece of sheet music, look at the key. This will quickly let you know which notes are sharp and which notes are flat.
3. Try to hum the song before playing it. If the crowd that you’re playing for is patient, give the notation a good look-over and hum it as you read it. If you’re lucky, there’ll be a friendly musician standing by who’ll walk you through the piece before you begin.
4. Hear or know the song before you read its notation. You’ll be even luckier if you’re already familiar with the song that you’re expected to play! This is where the benefit of exposure begins to shine. The more music that you expose yourself to, the easier it is to “know” how a song is supposed to “go.”
